The SSID is specified in the adapter configuration accessed from the "Network" control panel. The method of doing this varies between different versions of Windows.

Windows 95, Windows 98, and Windows ME:
Click on the "Start Menu," go to "Settings," and select "Control Panel." In the "Control Panel" double click on "Network.". This will open the "Network Configuration" screen that lists all adapters and protocols installed on the computer. Select the wireless card from the list (it will have a green circuit board-like icon to the left of it) and click "Properties." A window like this will open:

Select the "Advanced" tab. Under the "Property" heading, either "Network Name," "SSID" or "ESSID"; (varies) will be listed. Select the appropriate option and enter "SedTech_Access" (without the quotes) for the value. Then click "OK" until the "Control Panel" appears again. You will be prompted to restart your computer please do so. After restarting, the wireless connection should be established. Open a Web browser and go to a public Web site, such as www.msn.com, to bring up the SedTech Welcome Page and complete the connection process.

Windows 2000:
Click on the "Start Menu," select "Settings," and then click "Network and Dial-up Connections." Your wireless connection should be listed there. (It may be listed as "Local Area Connection" .) Double-click on the appropriate icon and then click "Properties". A window like the one below will open:

Click on the "Configure" button at the top, opening the "Properties" window for the Wi-Fi card. Select the "Advanced" tab and click on either "Network Name" or "SSID" (varies) and enter "SedTech_Access" (without the quotes). Click "OK" until the "Network and Dial-up Connections" window is on top. Then restart your computer. You should be connected after restarting.

Windows NT:
To begin, click on the "Start Menu," go to "Settings," and then click on the "Control Panel." In the "Control Panel" double click on "Network". A window that looks like this will open:

Select the "Adapter" tab. The installed wireless card should be listed. Select it, click "Properties," and then click on "Advanced." Listed will be either the SSID or Network Name (varies). Enter "SedTech_Access" (without the quotes) here.
